The story behind the art

“Raindrops & Rainbows” was created with loving memories of the freedom of childhood, dancing in the rain, excited about what the rain would bring in and the wonders that raindrops brought to life. Of course no rainfall is complete without the miracle of the rainbow.

The “Adorables” cat collection was created when I became a great grandmother. I enjoyed the new life and energy around the family, and was inspired to recreate my childhood experiences on canvas. 

My first sleepover (The Sleepover), my best girlfriend (Girlfriends), playtime with my friends (Tea Party) and bath time with my young siblings (Tubby Time); remembering how exhausted my mother was after taking care of her four young children. I remember being a child and taking along all of my favourite things everywhere I went, as I watch my great granddaughter do now.

Coming soon to this collection is, “The Ice Cream Palace.” Inspired by the living memory of my father who took us to get ice cream every Sunday after church.
